2016 May Update

redlandsmay16news2I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the new Redlands Website, and hope you enjoy looking around.  It has been a really busy year already, and with moving into our new property in January, things have not really stopped since then!  First of all, I would like to thank Ally and Ray Hudson of Quartz Hill Farm Arabians.  Ally and Ray have housed, fed, monitored and loved all our ponies for the last eighteen months.  During this time they have become wonderful friends.  I could not have asked for a more wonderful place for them to stay.  It was a very sad day when I moved all my stuff out!  Luckily our new place is only a couple of minutes down the road.  Ray has already been hard at work on the new fencing, which is a never ending job.

On the horse front we have not had too many chances to get out and about.  As usual there are plenty of young ones in work at home.  Shelby Bragg and Salisbury Masterpiece have been having an amazing season so far.  At the first Grand National Qualifier for the year, Pacific Coast Hack Championships, Shelby and Sheppy were awarded Champion Childs Show hunter galloway, and then backed up the next day to be awarded Champion Open show hunter galloway! This qualifies them for both the childs and open sections for 2017 Grand Nationals! Lara Christoffelsz was also awarded top ten junior rider at Pacific Coast.

At the 2016 Grand Nationals Shelby and Lara both competed.  Shelby was placed top ten in Australia in both the Childs and Open show hunter galloway for the second year in a row.  Fantastic effort Shelby.

At EA HOTY 2016 Shelby again had a fantastic show and was runner up Childs Show hunter Galloway and Champion Open show hunter Galloway.  This qualifies us for NATIONALS at Werribee in December.  This is a great show and so much fun, we cannot wait to go. Lara was awarded Top ten junior rider as well.

Sydney and Canberra Royals were a lot of fun with both Shelby and Lara competing for ribbons in various breed and hack classes.  Gracie Goodyer also rode Salisbury Masterpiece and was awarded Reserve Champion Junior Girl rider.  Well done Gracie!

redlandsmay16newsIn April, we attended the EA Interschools training camp at Camden Bicentennial Park.  Jasmine Domico rode WP Belvedere, Shelby Bragg rode Salisbury Mastermind, Lara Christoffelsz rode Nanteos Autumn Glade and Kayla Hogg rode Redlands Music Man. Jenna Bragg also attended at team captain and head chef.  The girls all had a fabulous time and learnt a lot.

Lara Christoffelsz also attended the Snowy Mountains Grammar Interschools competition, with both Nanteos Autumn Glade and Redlands Music Man.  Lara and Bug were awarded Champion Primary Dressage Rider, as well as numerous placings in other events.  The highlight was the six bar competition where Lara and Music made it through to the final round jumping 1 m high, a personal best for them.

Over winter we are very busy setting up our new facilities, and schooling all our young horses ready for the coming season.

We look forward to competing at NSW Interschool Championships at SIEC in June, Macquarie Bank Hack Championships and many more.  Not to be forgotten, on November 5th Jeremy and I are getting married right here at our new place.

New beginnings, and bright hopes for the future!  Look forward to seeing you all soon and showing you around our new place.
